Products

Students will create a podcast that explores a theme from "The Glass Castle," showcasing their understanding and analysis of the novel. Throughout the project, students will develop a podcast script, record and edit audio, and produce a polished final episode. This podcast will serve as a medium for students to articulate their arguments and insights, ultimately presenting their work to classmates and the teacher for feedback and reflection. Additionally, students will write a reflective essay connecting their personal experiences with themes of adversity and resilience found in the novel.

Launch

Kick off the project with an interactive 'Podcasting Workshop' led by professionals from a local radio station. Students will gain hands-on experience with audio equipment and software, learning essential skills for scriptwriting, recording, and editing. This immersive session sets the stage for students to confidently create their own podcasts, fostering collaboration and creativity from the outset.

Exhibition

At the conclusion of the project, students will host a Podcast Showcase where they present their final podcasts to classmates and invited guests, including teachers and community members. This event will feature listening stations for each podcast, allowing attendees to engage with the students' work and provide feedback. Students will also have the opportunity to discuss their research process, the themes they explored, and the technical skills they developed, fostering a deeper understanding of the novel and the podcast medium.
