Purpose

The purpose of this learning experience is to engage students in a dynamic exploration of teamwork, strategy, and self-expression through the game of kickball. By integrating physical activity with creative projects and reflective practices, students will develop essential skills in communication, leadership, and collaboration. This project-based approach encourages students to draw connections between physical education, artistic expression, and socio-emotional growth, fostering a holistic understanding of teamwork in both sports and broader life contexts.

Learning goals

The learning goals for this project are to enhance students' teamwork and communication skills through the context of kickball, develop strategic thinking by crafting and executing game plans, and foster creativity by designing team logos and uniforms. Students will also gain an understanding of public policy and self-advocacy by identifying allies and influencing community engagement during the community kickball day.
