Learning goals

Students will develop an understanding of the cultural and historical significance of llamas and alpacas in the Inca Empire, including their role in sustainability practices. They will learn and apply techniques for washing, dyeing, and weaving wool using traditional methods, integrating vocabulary in Spanish and Quechua. Students will explore the concept of sustainability by engaging in paper recycling efforts and calculating the impact of their actions. Through creating timelines and interviewing family members, students will connect historical and personal narratives, enhancing their sense of identity and belonging. Finally, they will practice effective communication and collaboration by sharing their projects and insights with peers, family, and the community.
