Students will develop an interactive digital timeline that traces the impact of Enlightenment thinkers on modern democratic societies, featuring multimedia content and virtual reality experiences. They will also create digital portfolios showcasing their analyses, debates, and reflections on Enlightenment ideas, including multimedia presentations and research papers. Additionally, students will produce and perform podcast episodes exploring the historical significance of salons and coffee shops, drawing parallels to modern spaces for dialogue.

Launch

Kick off the learning experience by hosting a 'Salon Simulation,' where students transform the classroom into an 18th-century salon or coffee shop. Encourage students to dress in period-appropriate attire and use props to enhance the atmosphere as they engage in discussions and debates on Enlightenment ideas. This immersive experience will set the stage for exploring how the philosophies of Locke, Montesquieu, Rousseau, and Hobbes can be applied to modern-day scenarios.

Exhibition

Students will organize a 'Philosopher's Fair,' creating interactive booths that showcase the ideas of Enlightenment thinkers like Locke, Montesquieu, Rousseau, and Hobbes. Each booth will feature activities that apply these philosophies to current societal issues, encouraging engagement and dialogue with peers and community members. Additionally, students will host a 'Rights Revolution Rally,' presenting speeches and multimedia presentations on the influence of Enlightenment ideas on modern democratic societies, inviting reflection and discussion on their relevance to current events.
